Fairey Huntsman 31.


The classic Fairey Huntsman 31 has been charming modellers for many years,
with its advanced hull design and classy super-structure.
Available in two scale sizes (1/11th 34" & 1/8th 46" scale) each is supplied with eather a fiberglass or
plywood hull. Both have one-piece removable superstructures which allow plenty of room
for even the largest motors.You get all the required timber, die-cut manufactured,
and pre-profiled components, all window glazing and frames, vac-formed air vents,
Comprehensive instruction. No running hardware is provided as this will vary greatly
depending on the type of power unit used. But the detailed instructions give plenty
of installation options for the model.
The Huntsman 31 was Alan Burnard's brainchild as The primary reason for this hull was
comfort at sea and racing (and staying dry!). Alan drew the hull lines in 1966/1967 Two versions of
the Huntsman 31 were to be built by Faireys, one with an aft cabin and one with an open cockpit.
Between the years 1961 and 1973 the total number of awards won by Fairey Marine cruisers
in powerboat races was 148. In addition to this was an impresive tally of 54 awards for races
in 1969 alone. This makes a grand total of 202 awards in 12 years or almost 17 awards per year!!
The Huntsman 31 was one of the greatest motor cruisers of all time. It looks right; it handles superbly.

Vosper Thorneycroft's K.D. Perkasa


The Perkasa is a scale gas turbine attack craft available in two sizes (1/32th. 37" & 1/24th. 49"scale)
Both scales are available with either a wooden or ready-made Fibreglass hull. The method of construction
is identical on both sizes with the exception to the hull. Each model features a one-piece
superstructure which, when removed, gives clear and easy access to the powerplant and R/C bays.
You get all the required timber, die-cut manufactured, and pre-profiled torpedoes & Bofor gun components, all windows Comprehensive instruction. No running hardware is provided as this will vary greatly
depending on the type of power unit used.
Not being a 'deep V' type hull, all versions of the model are ideal for electric power.
For top performance, choose a water cooled marine Engine in the .40 to .60 range.
The Perkasa were designed and built for the British Admiralty in 1954-59
they had three Rolls Royce Marine Proteus gas turbines as their main power plant,
driving through reverse/reduction vee-drive gearboxes to fully-cavitating propellers.
They were the first warships in the world to be fitted with these engines,
they have maximum speed between 50 and 60 knots. Most have diesel auxiliary engines for
cruising and manoeuvring. They are hard-chine, planing boats, 96 ft. in length. The
armament generally consists of two 40 mm L.60 Bofors guns and four 21-in
torpedoes carried in side-launching chutes.
